Internship.

Heei.
I suppose I haven't posted an update with no pictures in a really long time. It's just,I always thought pictures would make it more interesting than a wordy post. But this post,it's dedicated to my - you guessed it - internship.
It's been about a week since I started and I must say,I'd choose school over work any day. It's not easy, and it's not like in school where you can be so casual about things,do whatever you please and in my opinion, the most important, eat whenever and how much I want. There is no excuse for what you say or do,and no apologies can forgive you for saying something nasty to a customer or to your colleagues. It just isn't the same in school where people are so forgiving.Or where you could simply shrug it off.
To be frank,I wasn't too happy in the beginning regarding my working hours and I'm still adjusting to it.But I thought to myself,I can't change my work schedule but I sure can alter my personal life these few months to make myself happy. After all,one of my resolutions this year was to be happy and for that to happen,I cannot put my happiness in the hands of anyone or any situation.
I am also starting to think to myself that this isn't a career for me.I'm an introvert;I like silence when I work and I hate communicating with strangers or new people.I'd rather get lost in a foreign land with my broken GPS,trying to make it work than to ask a stranger for directions.Which,in this case,is the complete opposite.
But oh well.Everything that is thrown to me teaches me something,be it short term or lifelong lessons.I guess I would just have to be positive about it,not think too much and just go with the flow. After all, work is work and nothing more.

Eat Playlove Cafe

Heei♡

Finally met up with Thines yesterday and we had decided beforehand that we would try this cafe in Bugis called Eat Playlove Cafe.I had no idea what kind of food they sold, but seeing the picture she sent me,I knew it was one of those vintage cafe with great food.

I took us quite some time, walking around Bugis as we both weren't regulars to walking in between shops in that area of Singapore and also the GPS was just not working with us.

When we finally got there,I knew all the walking and confusion earlier on was worth it.

Overview of our order, top - bottom:
pineapple rice, tom yam soup, chicken chop aglio alio and cheese fries

THE CHEESE FRIES WERE SO GOOD,as was everything else.I think the rice was pretty average, but the western dish and tom yam soup were above my expectations.

Dessert was mango (I forgot the name!)
This was sooo good as well,I can't wait to come back and order this again.

Walked around the cafe to take pictures after we were satisfied with our dinner. It was late and there were no more customers,so we took our time to snap around. Also, pardon the pictures because the cafe was slightly dim.

Updates From Last Week!

Heiii
Exams are finally over!I am trying to make the most of my March holiday before internship begins.I am excited but also quite afraid for intern.
So anyway,I just thought I'd update on what I was up to last week,in the midst of preparing and revising for my final papers.

Tuesday
Went to The Reel Room in the school library cafe after our second paper.By 'our' I meant Merissa,Brenda and Nik Han.It was packed but fortunately we found two empty tables so we grabbed some chairs nearby and made ourselves comfortable.I have a recent obsession with seafood, especially if it is cooked with pasta.Just thinking about it now is making me all hungry!

Merissa's Cheese Fries

Nik Han's Onion Rings
Another yum!

Brenda's Beefy Nacho Cheese
Yum #3!

Thursday
Had lunch with Merissa and Brenda after our afternoon paper.Persuaded them to go to Pastamania at Causeway Point and finally satisfied my Tom Yam Seafood pasta cravings!Have I already mentioned how delicious this pasta is?Heeheehee
The portion looks small but it is always so filling.
